Please note, to complete the following form you will require a bank statement to help provide certain information.

In addition, if your Direct Debit is due to debit within the next 3 days you will need to contact the Originator as this cancellation will only take effect from the next due date.
Please be aware that cancelling a direct debit for a loan, mortgage, credit card or any credit repayment facility may lead to you falling into arrears. If you have any queries or concerns about cancelling a direct debit, please discuss with the direct debit originator or the recipient of funds.

If you are cancelling a Direct Debit that is to your Ulster Bank Mortgage, please do not proceed with this request. Contact our Mortgage Operations team on 1890252270.

Please note, this may impact your credit history held with the Central Credit Register and /or the ICB if agreement for payment break or alternative payment arrangement has not been reached with your lending provider.
Time Frame

Payment due to leave in 3 or more working days
If you cancel a direct debit on a Monday which is due out on the following Friday the direct debit will be cancelled and will not show as leaving your account.

Payment due to leave in less than 3 working days
If you cancel a direct debit on a Tuesday which is due out on the following Thursday the amount of the direct debit will show as leaving your account on Thursday, but will reappear in the account on Friday morning

Payment due to leave in less than 3 working days and at the weekend
If you cancel a direct debit on a Friday which is due out on Saturday the amount of the direct debit will show as having left your account. Your account balance will be adjusted on Tuesday morning, or Wednesday if Monday is a bank holiday.
Please note, we will block this direct debit which will stop all future direct debit payments to this Originator. We suggest that you also contact the Originator to tell them you have cancelled the direct debit.
